Feature: “What will be your Space Jam?” Kid President

After a trip to New York a few months back I was feeling drained, depressed and generally down. I was starting to lose my faith in people and as a result began to become more and more introverted. A friend of mine knew I wasn’t doing too good so he sent me a video.

That video was “A Pep Talk from Kid President to You”

The first time I watched the video I cried.
I had so much frustration and stress built up, having a 9 year old kid tell me to “stop being boring” just struck a cord. The video, brought to you by Soul Pancake, has over 24 million views on YouTube. The belief behind Kid President is “kids have a voice worth listening to”, according to the creator Brad Montague. Brad and his wife started a camp called Go! Camp and were inspired by the kids creativity and compassion to start making the Kid President videos.

Kid President is played by 9 year old Robby. Robby has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a brittle bone condition which has resulted in him having over 70 breaks since birth. What’s amazing about Robby is his condition doesn’t define who he is. He’s a vibrant and hilarious kid who loves to break out into dance. Robby has interviewed tons of celebs including Rainn Wilson, Jennifer Hudson and the POTUS himself Barack Obama. Kid President’s videos are heartwarming and inspirational. Share them with someone you love, someone you hate or someone who just needs a little shove in a positive direction.
